olkata, Feb. 28 -- A book on the life and ordeal of gig workers titled "No 1 Akasganga" was released at a function here on Friday.
Penned by Ashoke Mukhopadhyay, a well-known litterateur, the original book in Bengali titled Ek Nombor Akasganga has been translated by Zenith Roy. This is the first novel on the gig workers of Kolkata.
A panel discussion was held in which noted film director Gautam Ghose, actress Moon Moon Sen, artist Subhaprassana, poet Subodh Sarkar took part along with the author and the translator.
The book has been brought out by Niyogi Books. Trisha De Niyogi, COO and director of Niyogi Books, was present on the occasion.
