Imphal, Dec. 26 -- A book on 162 rarely available ancient texts, most of them over a thousand years old, written in ancient Manipuri script, was published here on Friday.
The launch of "PUYA - Sacred Scriptures" was held at the residence of late historian Pandit Khelchandra Singh.
Releasing the book as the Chief Guest, social activist RK Meghen appealed to all to try to understand the writings which have been handed over by past generations.
Presiding over the function, Writer Laishram Memo Singh said there are large numbers of ancient texts written in Meitei script and the publication of the book will help people read various topics which were written in earlier times.
