Bengaluru, Aug. 17 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today launched a sharp attack on the Congress, saying its leaders' comparison of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the Taliban is not only shameful but exposes the party's own links with radical outfits.
"Congress leaders should be ashamed of calling the RSS Taliban. The reality is that it was the Congress which glorified Tipu Sultan as a hero, and today they are aligning with organisations like the SDPI. These are the real Taliban sympathisers," Bommai charged, reacting to Congress criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day address from the Red Fort.
