Bengaluru, Jan. 2 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai on Friday demanded that the investigation into the violence in Ballari be handed over to the CBI or conducted under the supervision of the High Court.
He said that after the investigation report is submitted, a Special Court should be constituted to conduct the trial and the guilty should be awarded the harshest punishment.
Posting on X, Bommai alleged that the incident in Ballari was driven by political vendetta and was a conspiracy to physically eliminate political opponents. He claimed that Congress MLAs' henchmen had gathered and created a ruckus in front of MLA Janardhan Reddy's house.
