Haveri, March 15 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday alleged police lapses in the investigation of the Swati Byadagi murder case and stressed that only a thorough probe would bring out the truth.

Bommai, who visited Swati's residence in Masur village to console her family, expressed shock over the incident. Addressing the media, he recounted how Swati's mother had struggled to raise her three children after losing her husband at a young age.

Swati, he noted, was building her life through hard work and education.
