Bengaluru, Oct. 5 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai today accused the state government of turning a blind eye to online betting activities in Koramangala, saying they continue unabated despite the central government's ban.

In a social media post, Bommai highlighted what he described as a troubling nexus between online betting operators, the police, and the government.

He recalled that when his government was in power, strict measures were taken against online betting. "Non-bailable cases were registered, and strict laws were enforced to curb illegal betting," Bommai said. The matter, he noted, is currently pending before the Supreme Court.
