Nashik, Dec. 18 -- The Bombay High Court has fixed January 7, 2026, as the next date of hearing in a Public Interest Litigation concerning the proposed felling of trees in Tapovan, Sadhugram area of Nashik. The court has directed both the Maharashtra state government and the Nashik Municipal Corporation to remain present during the hearing.

The matter relates to a PIL filed by Advocate Nitin Pandit, who is also the city vice-president of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The petition seeks a stay on the proposed tree felling in the Sadhugram locality, raising environmental concerns over the impact of the project.
