Mumbai, Oct. 10 -- The Bombay High Court has restrained the Mumbai Police from filing a chargesheet against a 15-year-old girl accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly sending sexually suggestive messages to her classmate and the classmate's mother.

The court questioned the registration of the offence under POCSO, as both the victim and the accused are minors.

A bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad was hearing a petition by the accused girl seeking quashing of the FIR against her contending that she was just playing a prank against her classmate.

The petition was filed by her father.
