Thiruvananthapuram, May 1 -- Security has been tightened in Kerala Capital on Thursday after the authorities received bomb threats ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state capital to inaugurate the Vizhinjam International Seaport on May 2.
Police and bomb squads carried out thorough inspections in multiple locations including Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation, Vanchiyoor Court complex, Vizhinjam Port and UAE Consulate Office, following the threats received to these places. However, no explosives were found from these places.
Both the Central and the state authorities imposed high alert in key locations after the incident.
