Bomb threat to Sri Harmandir Sahib's Langar hall triggers high alert

Chandigarh, July 14 -- A bomb threat targeting the Langar Hall of the sacred Sri Harmandir Sahib has triggered a security alert in Amritsar.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has filed a formal complaint with the police after receiving an anonymous email warning of a bomb attack using explosives.

Confirming the development, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, "The SGPC informed us about a threatening email. Taking immediate cognizance, we have registered an FIR and launched an investigation."
