Chennai, Oct. 9 -- An anonymous call stating that bombs would go offat the residence of TVK Founder and actor-turned-neta Vijay, turned outto be a hoax, today.

Acting on information, police along with fire, bomb detection and disposalsquad personnel along with sniffer dogs made a thorough search of theactor's residence at Neelangarai on the ECR.

However, no explosives were found and the threat turned out to be a hoax.

The hoax bomb threat comes close on the heels of a tragic stampede atVijay's political in Karur on September 27, 2025, which had claimed thelives of 41 people, including women and childnre, and left over 50 injured.

The police have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the hoaxthreat and identify the culprit. ...
