Hyderabad, April 27 -- Panic prevailed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here on Monday after airport authorities received a bomb threat email from an unidentified person.

Following the alert, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force, along with local police and bomb disposal squads, conducted extensive checks across the airport premises.

According to officials, the email claimed that an explosive device had been placed in luggage and threatened to blow up the airport.

Security agencies immediately launched a thorough search operation.
