Bomb hoax triggers panic in Shimla schools
Shimla, July 23 -- Panic spread across Shimla in Himachal Pradesh today morning, after three private schools received alleged bomb threat emails, leading to immediate evacuations and a major security operation.
The threats were later confirmed to be hoaxes, but the incident caused widespread concern among parents, students and local authorities.
As soon as the three schools -- St. Edwards School Shimla, Sacred Heart School, Dhalli and Saraswati Paradise School, Sanjauli -- received the threatening messages, officials acted swiftly. Police teams with bomb disposal squads, were deployed to thoroughly search the campuses.
Students and staff were safely evacuated, and entry to the schools was restricted until the premises were declared safe....
