La Paz, June 10 -- Bolivian legal authority opened an investigation of former President Evo Morales on Monday on alleged electoral sabotage in connection to ongoing protests demanding that he be allowed to run for reelection.
Attorney General Roger Mariaca told a press conference Monday that the Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to address a complaint filed by the Justice Ministry against Morales for certain criminal offenses.
The complaint accuses Morales of "terrorism," obstructing the electoral process, disobeying constitutional resolutions, disrupting public services, and destroying state property, among other crimes, linked to road blockades that paralyzed key regions of the country last week.
