Bokaro, Nov. 1 -- A Special POCSO Court here today granted bail to one Shahnawaz Ahmed, who was lodged in jail on serious charges of raping a minor girl, due to inconsistencies in witness statements.
The order was passed by Special Judge and District Judge-III, Divesh Kumar Tripathi, after hearing the bail petition filed by the accused.
According to sources in court, the case is linked to Marafari police station case registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's family.
The accused was charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case, registered as POCSO Case No. 63/2025, is currently under trial.
