Kannur, Sept. 6 -- The body of a real estate businessman, who jumped into the Valapattanam river on September 4 and was washed away, while returning from the hospital after a routine check up following a heart surgery, has been recovered, police said today.
According to police, the body of C Gopinath (59), a real-estate businessman of Keecheri near Pappinisseri, was found around afternoon under the Valapattanam bridge on Saturday.
According to reports, Gopinath had recently undergone heart surgery and was returning home after a routine hospital check-up when he jumped into the river when the car they were travelling in got stuck in a traffic jam on the bridge.
