New Delhi, July 23 -- The Government today said the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 is a progressive and women-friendly law. For the first time, the legislation incorporates comprehensive provisions specifically aimed at protecting women and children from various crimes.
The new law introduces strict punishments, including life imprisonment and death sentences, for serious offences such as gang rape of minors, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar told Rajya Sabha today.
