Dhaka, Aug. 18 -- General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary of Bangladesh's eminent political party BNP, has said that a fair election cannot be conducted with the cadres appointed by the now-banned Awami League still being part of the administration. "A free and fair election cannot be possible with the Awami-era administration. Awami League-backed cadres must be removed from the administration, and neutral officials should be appointed at the field level," he said, referring to the civil service officials appointed by the previous regime.
