Dhaka, Jan. 8 -- Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) volunteer wing, Swechhasebak Dal leader Azizur Rahman Musabbir, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar area on Wednesday night, amid growing concerns over law and order ahead of country's national election.
The deceased was identified as Azizur Rahman Musabbir, while the injured, Sufian Byapari Masud, is the general secretary of the Tejgaon Thana Van Workers' Union.
Musabbir was rushed to BRB Hospital in Panthapath but was declared dead on arrival, Fazlul Karim, additional deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Tejgaon Zone), told The Daily Star.
Masud was later shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
