Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has mandated its departments to address stray dog complaints at least thrice weekly, officials confirmed today.

This follows the Supreme Court's recent directive for Delhi/NCR authorities to relocate strays to shelters within eight weeks.

Between January-August 2025, BMC recorded 10,778 complaints regarding road safety hazards and rabies risks from strays. To improve response times, the civic body has implemented an online complaint system via the MyBMC app and website, where residents can report locations and track resolution using reference numbers.
