Mumbai, Sept. 24 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has removed nearly 10,000 kg of dead fish and ritual waste from the Mumbai historic Banganga Tank at Malabar Hill following the conclusion of Pitrua Paksh rituals, officials said today.

As part of the Pitru Paksha ritual, devotees make floral and other offerings in the tank, which led to rise in water pollution levels causing the death of fish, civic officials said, adding that they started removing the dead fish from Sunday night itself.
