Thane, May 31 -- A fire broke out late Friday night at a scrapyard in Thane district's Shil area, officials said on Saturday. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, the blaze erupted around 11 pm at Bablu Compound and was confined to five godowns within the scrapyard.

Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control by 5:15 am on Saturday. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
