BJP workers clash at GST reform workshop in UP, several injured, vehicles damaged

Gonda, Sept. 23 -- A scuffle broke out between the BJP supporters of an MLA and Block Chief during a GST reform workshop at the Block Auditorium in the Katra Bazaar police station area of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, leading to a fierce exchange of sticks, bricks, and stones.

Several BJP workers from both sides were injured in the clash.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Abhishek Devachya said here that a rivalry had been brewing between the current BJP MLA Bawan Singh and Bhawani Bhik Shukla, a representative of Block Chief Jugraji Shukla, since the 2022 Assembly elections.
