Shimla, Feb. 27 -- BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan defeated ruling Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi on toss following cross-voting in the only Rajya Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh up for grabs on Tuesday.
According to the BJP election counting agent, their candidate defeated his Congress rival Supreme Court lawyer Singhvi in a toss after both contestants got 34 votes each.
Sharma said the BJP has filed an objection to the cancellation of the vote of Sudarshan Bablu, who was feried in a government helicopter during the day from the hospital. BJP alleged that Congress violated the model code of conduct to misuse government machinery to cost a vote.
