Hyderabad, July 28 -- BJP's Telangana state unit chief N Ramchander Rao today strongly asserted that the saffron outfit is the only political party genuinely committed to the welfare and upliftment of Backward Classes (BCs).
Addressing the OBC Morcha meeting at the party's state headquarters here, Rao highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives for BC empowerment, pointing out that 27% of ministers in the Union Cabinet are from BC communities, and credited Modi with forming the BC Commission and giving the community national prominence.
"Modi himself is from the Backward Classes. No other Prime Minister has done so much for the BCs," he said.
