Hyderabad, Sept. 2 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao today asserted that the party, upon forming the government in the next Assembly elections, would officially celebrate September 17 as Telangana Vimochan (Liberation) Day.

Addressing a public meeting at Gundrampally in Nalgonda district, organised to pay tribute to martyrs who resisted the Razakars of the Nizam regime, Rao recalled the courage of villagers who revolted against autocratic rule and sacrificed their lives.

He demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to celebrate September 17 officially if he truly respects the sacrifices made during the struggle.
