Bengaluru, Sept. 11 -- BJP Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, today warned the Congress government against "appeasement politics" and strongly opposed any move to rename Bengaluru's Shivaji Nagar metro station on religious grounds.
Addressing reporters here, Narayanaswamy said the station's name was linked to the history of the locality and should not be altered to placate any section. "The name of Shivaji Nagar should not be changed to please anyone. Appeasement has become the first choice of the Congress party - that is why their organisation has weakened. We will not allow names to be decided based on religion," he told reporters.
