Kolkata, June 23 -- Four BJP MLAs were suspended from the West Bengal Assembly on Monday for the current monsoon session for their alleged unruly behaviour on the floor of the House by Speaker Biman Banerjee. In protest the BJP legislators walked out of the assembly shouting slogans.
The suspended BJP MLAs are Agnimitra Paul, Shankar Ghosh, Shankar Oraon and Dilip Burman. The charges against them included disrespect to the chair and unruly behaviour in the House.
The Speaker ordered marshal to take out the suspended BJP legislators, which infuriated the other party MLAs, including leader of the House Suvendu Adhikari, who stood for some time on the floor closed to Chair and finally led all his MLAs out of the House.
