Pune, Jan. 23 -- Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Sunday announced the formation of a Trust to render financial help to the Brahmin students coming from economically-weaker sections.

He was speaking here on the launch of calendar published by Nashik-based Akhil Madhyavarti Brahmin Sanstha.

"It was our long vision to set up a Trust to help Brahmin students from economically-weaker families. The work on forming the Trust is in final stages," he told.

He continued, "In Maharashtra, there are many Brahmin students who are not able to pursue higher education due to financial crisis. This Trust will come to the aid of such pupils."

Mr Patil also pledged Rs one lakh to raise funds for the organisation.
