Bengaluru, Jan. 1 -- BJP MLA SR Vishwanath on Thursday said his party would legally challenge any move by the Karnataka government to allot houses to foreign nationals in the Kogilu illegal hutment and house eviction case and would also submit a representation to the Governor on the issue.

Speaking to reporters here, Vishwanath said illegal huts had been constructed on land belonging to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). He said a genuine beneficiary today has to spend around Rs 10.5 lakh to obtain a house, either through a bank loan or personal resources, with Rs five lakh coming from the BBMP and Rs 2.5 lakh from the Minority Welfare Department.
