Chennai, Oct. 12 -- Launching a statewide yatra from the temple town of Madurai ahead of the 2026 assembly election, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran on Sunday predicted that the countdown has started for the removal of the ruling DMK from power and the NDA forming the government with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) as the Chief Minister.

Earlier, the yatra was scheduled to be flagged off by BJP National President and union Minister J P Nadda, who could not make it ashe was busy with Bihar polls.

Later, BJP sources confirmed union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will flag it off and her office also posted on X on herarrival at Madurai airport along with photos.
