Lucknow, Aug. 9 -- The Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP has begun the groundwork for the next year's panchayat elections and the 2027 Assembly polls.

Party sources said the state leadership has set an ambitious goal of bringing over 1.6 million young people into the party fold ahead of these significant elections.

According to a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) office-bearer, the responsibility for this task has been handed to the BJP's youth wing. As part of the plan, the BJYM will connect with voters aged 18 to 30, with its workers explaining the party's policies and agenda to them and encouraging their participation as potential cadre members.
