Ch. Sambhajinagar, March 18 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured control of the Ch. Sambhajinagar Zilla Parishad after a prolonged political tussle over the election of its president and vice-president.
Avinash Glande was elected president, while Jitendra Jaiswal became vice-president, both without contest, as no other candidates entered the fray.
Despite a pre-decided formula for the posts, efforts were reportedly made by Shiv Sena MLA Abdul Sattar and MP Sandipan Bhumre to influence the outcome through political manoeuvring.
