Hyderabad, March 13 -- Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party supports the rejuvenation of the Musi River but strongly opposes the demolition of houses of poor and middle-class families in the name of development.

Speaking to the media at the Telangana BJP office in Nampally, he said the party has no objection to the Musi project or the Musi PowerPoint presentation, and clarified that the BJP has never opposed the plan to rejuvenate the river.

"Our stand is clear - the Musi River should be cleaned from Hyderabad until it merges with the Krishna River, and clean water should flow through it so that farmers can use it for irrigation," he said.
