Bengaluru, March 18 -- The Kogilu Layout demolition and subsequent rehabilitation has erupted into a heated political controversy, with BJP leaders accusing the Congress-led Karnataka government of distributing city land to Bangladeshi nationals and other non-residents, sparking fears over local rights and governance.
Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka on Wednesday claimed that over 20 acres in Bengaluru had already been allocated to Bangladeshi citizens. "Not even a single site should be given to them. This land belongs to the Bangalore City Corporation and is meant for debris management, not for outsiders," he told reporters outside the Assembly.
