Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 19 -- : Soon after the BJP's victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, the CPI(M)-led Left government, which lost control of the civic body, withdrew Rs 200 crore from the Corporation's own funds and transferred the amount to the Kerala Government Treasury, triggering political controversy over the alleged misuse of funds.
The BJP strongly criticised the State government's decision, calling it unacceptable. BJP State General Secretary Adv. S. Suresh said the move was particularly objectionable as the election model code of conduct is currently in force.
