Belagavi, Oct. 4 -- Karnataka is grappling with a severe agrarian crisis as 10-12 lakh hectares of croplands have been damaged due to unrelenting rains, but the affected farmers are yet to be given compensation. Two farmers have reportedly taken their own lives, which highlights the state government's slow response, Leader of the Opposition and BJP MLA R Ashoka said here today.
Speaking to reporters, Ashoka criticised the Congress-led administration for failing to adequately address the needs of flood-affected farmers. "It has been two months since the rains began.
