Bengaluru, Sept. 16 -- Senior BJP leaders today sharply criticised the Karnataka Congress government over its acquisition of farmers' land in Bidadi, Byramangala, and Kanchugaranahalli villages in Ramanagara district, terming the move illegal and demanding that it be returned forthwith.
The land, spanning more than 9,000 acres, is intended for the Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT), envisioned as India's first and largest Artificial Intelligence-powered city. Located roughly 30 km from Bengaluru, the project is being planned as Karnataka's next central business hub, following a work-live-play model, but has sparked protests from farmers fearing loss of livelihood.
