Dharamshala, March 14 -- The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly criticised the state government for bringing the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) outside the purview of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, alleging that the decision was aimed at shielding corruption.

In a press statement issued here on Friday, BJP state spokesperson Sanjay Sharma termed the decision of the Congress-led government a "black chapter in democracy" and accused it of attempting to provide official protection to corrupt officials and leaders.
