Puttur, Nov. 19 -- Karnataka BJP president and MLA Vijayendra Yediyurappa today slammed Kannada Development Authority chief Purushottam Bilimale for reportedly referring to Yakshagana artists from the coastal region as "homosexuals" and demanded the resignation of Speaker UT Khader over allegations of corruption, calling both incidents a blow to Karnataka's culture and governance.

Speaking to the media in Puttur, Vijayendra said Bilimale's remark was an insult not only to the Yakshagana artists and the coastal region but to the broader Hindu community. He described the statement as reflective of the Congress party's mindset and called for the immediate removal of the chairman to safeguard the state's art, heritage, and culture.
