Shillong, Dec. 1 -- The opposition Congress claimed that the ruling National People's Party (NPP) in Meghalaya has been sidelined by the Bharatiya Jamaat Party (BJP).

Launching the Congress' National Talent Hunt in Meghalaya, the party Joint Secretary in-charge Meghalaya, Mathew Antony said that the BJP is "not allowing" the Conrad Sangma-led NPP to raises the grievances faced by the people of Meghalaya.

He said that the Congress through this talent hunt is taking the first step to take the voices of the people of the northeast and Meghalaya.

Antony said the programme will focus on regional concerns such as unemployment, land scams, rising crime, women's safety, and the drug menace.
