Ranchi, April 4 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday sought a high-level probe and statewide audit into alleged irregularities in cataract surgeries conducted under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Jharkhand's Jamtara district.

Raising the issue, BJP spokesperson Ajay Sah alleged that a large number of cataract procedures had been shown by private healthcare facilities in Jamtara within a short span, and questioned how such claims were processed and monitored under the public health insurance framework.
