Ch. Sambhajinagar, Jan. 16 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a clear majority in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation elections, winning 58 seats in the 115-member civic body.

According to the final results, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 58 seats, crossing the majority mark. Its ally, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), won 12 seats.

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) put up a strong performance, securing 33 seats, while the Shiv Sena (UBT faction) won six seats.

The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi secured four seats. The Nationalist Congress Party and the Indian National Congress won one seat each, while the Nationalist Congress Party failed to open its account.
