Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 13 -- In a landmark development in Kerala politics, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won half the seats in the Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation, marking an unprecedented victory in the state capital, long considered a stronghold of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
Counting of votes from the local body polls held on December 9 revealed that the BJP-NDA secured a majority in the 101-ward corporation, ending decades of LDF dominance in the politically significant city.
