Washim, Jan. 4 -- BJP leader and Washim district election in-charge Raju Patil Raje has filed a police complaint against Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar at the Washim police station, alleging that Wadettiwar made unfounded and defamatory statements against him and the ruling Mahayuti alliance, officials confirmed on Sunday.

According to officials, Vijay Wadettiwar, during press conferences held in Nagpur and Mumbai, reportedly claimed that a case related to counterfeit currency had been registered against Raju Patil Raje.

However, a police inquiry revealed that no such case has ever been registered against him.
