Agartala, Feb. 16 -- The General Secretary of State BJP Amit Rakshit faced a humiliating defeat against a former cricketer and retired technocrat Tapan Lodh in the apex council election of Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) held on Thursday.
While Lodh obtained 23 votes, Rakshit secured only five votes including himself in the post of President. Other members of his panel, BJP youth front leader and former treasurer of TCA Jaylal Das lost the fight securing only five votes in the treasurer post to Basudev Chakraborty and another follower of Rakshit Tapan Choudhury lost the councilor post to Soumitra Gope.
