New Delhi, Jan. 12 -- Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh on Monday refuted allegations by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that the Delhi government is withholding funds to weaken the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

The Mayor termed the allegations as "misleading, baseless, and politically motivated," and stressed that the Delhi Government is committed to strengthening municipal governance, sanitation, and civic infrastructure across the city.

He added that adequate funds are being provided to all councillors for development works in their wards. According to the Mayor, the government has made Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 8 crore available per ward, with an additional Rs. 500 crore allocated to the MCD for civic projects.
