Hyderabad, Feb. 18 -- The BJP on Wednesday criticised a Telangana government order allowing Muslim employees to leave office an hour early during Ramzan, alleging it reflected selective accommodation and minority appeasement.
In a statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson N V Subash said facilitating religious practices was not objectionable, but similar concessions should also be extended to other communities during major observances such as Ayyappa Deeksha and Hindu festivals. He claimed selective decisions create a perception of discrimination against the majority community.
Stating that true secularism means equal respect for all faiths, Subash urged the Congress government to adopt a uniform policy on religious accommodations.
