Mumbai, Jan. 16 -- Claiming that history is set to be made in Mumbai, the Bharatiya Janata Party has asserted that the city will soon have its first BJP "Marathi" mayor, a development the party says reflects its growing strength in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
Reacting to a question on whether Mumbai could see a BJP mayor for the first time, BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye said there was no room for doubt. Speaking to a media, he said that for the first time in Mumbai's history, a Marathi mayor from the BJP would assume office.
