Thane, Dec. 31 -- The BJP has opened its victory account in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation elections even before polling, with two of its candidates being elected unopposed. BJP candidates Rekha Chaudhary and Asawari Navre have secured unopposed victories.
Rekha Chaudhary has been elected for the second consecutive term, while Asawari Navre has entered the civic body for the first time.
Election Officer Varun Kumar Sahare confirmed that only one nomination was filed for the Backward Class (Women) reserved seat in Ward No. 18(A), leading to Chaudhary's unopposed election.
